There has been a lot of speculations about what leaky gut syndrome is, by simply literally defining it’s name. Many medical professionals think that these speculations are not relevant though. According to them, the only way to cure this odd disease is by a holistic approach. And then, once cured, one should be able to follow steps to prevent the infection from coming again.

Do you know that your digestive tract is like a long tube starting from your mouth down to your colon? In understanding the cause of leaky gut syndrome, it’s important to first understand a little about your anatomy. The mouth, throat, esophagus, stomach, small and large intestines… all these body parts perform their own job to complete the digestion process.

Leaky gut syndrome affects your colon. It is caused by undigested food coating the walls of your colon. This coating is called mucoid plaque. Mucoid plaque builds up until your colon develops small leaks in its membrane.

There are no known conventional medicines that will cure leaky gut syndrome. Don’t lose hope. You can do something about it. Because it is caused by a plaque buildup, you can do a colon cleanse to help remove the buildup. You don’t want to use laxatives to stimulate your colon because that doesn’t remove the plaque, it just removes today’s digested food.

Now, in choosing a colon cleansing product, it’s important to assure that it doesn’t contain any harsh chemical. Being patient is important as well, because it might take several cleansing to totally remove the coating on the walls of your colon. However, it is not advised to cleanse your body frequently, even when using herbal products. Colon cleansing once a month or every other month is ideal.

Now, preventing leaky gut syndrome is a different story. It can’t be done by cleansing your colon. A change of the lifestyle is the way to prevent it. You can certainly do so by starting to eat healthily, basically fresh fruits and vegetables, raw preferably. And of course, more water. Uncooked foods, plus water will make it easier for you to have a bowel movement, hence build up of undigested food is less likely to happen.

Physical movement is also helpful to keep your colon free from any odd disease, so exercise is also a good way to prevent leaky gut syndrome.

Leaky Gut Syndrome is an odd disease. Presently, most adult Americans have it. To maintain a healthy colon, get the facts about the cure to Leaky Gut Syndrome. Straight and simple.
