I’m a 16 year old girl. I get bad gas and a bloated stomach a lot. I’ve worked out that I need to do a colon cleanse, but I think it would be extremely unhealthy for me to only eat raw fruit and vegetables for such a length of time. Is there any way to do a colon cleanse while still eating normally? For example, drinking water, maple syrup, cayenne pepper and lemon on top of a healthy diet with wholemeal bread, fruit, veg and beans etc?

It’s possible that doing a colon cleanse would help take care of the gas… but it might make it worse, too.
Gas is commonly caused by improper digestion (either of one particular type of food like dairy or beans or by certain categories of foods) so there are a few ways you could address this. You could take the time and effort to keep a food diary and find out what types of foods you generally eat before getting gas, but some just like to help their digestion regardless of what foods may be causing the problem. One of the best way to take care of it is generally by taking a good digestive enzyme complex to help with the digestion.
Although with that being said, there are three major puzzle pieces for proper digestion… enzymes, fiber, and Probiotics. If the enzymes aren’t enough, you could increase your fiber intake (fruits, veggies, grains, pastas, etc) and/or Probiotics in any order.

Doing a colon cleanse is almost like doing a hard reset… flushing everything out (good and bad) and hoping the good is replenished more than the bad. Unfortunately, if something in your current diet is causing the gas, then it will come back after a colon cleanse. Yes, you can still eat carbs and "regular food" while doing a cleanse, but it’ll just replace the feces going out. Also, as a side note, I’ve heard of some pretty bad reactions to the cleanse you mentioned with maple syrup and whatnot… it’s a lot healthier to do a lower-level cleanse by increasing your fiber intake, eating more fruits and veggies, and eating less processed foods. Good luck and I hope I helped!

You do not need a colon cleanse, whatever that is. Not sure who "worked that out" for you. If you get a lot of gas, you should modify your diet and stop eating things that give you gas; look it up online for plenty of gas inducing foods lists.References :

There’s really no such thing as a colon cleanse; it’s a made up scam that people who sell these sort of products recklessly promote.

Removing the waste in your colon will do nothing for any digestion issues. If you are concerned about your health you really need to see a doctor. Taking advice from an unqualified salesperson is to be avoided, you should seek professional advice.References :

Rach, its true – colon cleansing is a scam, with zero health benefits.

From Wiki: "No scientific evidence supports the alleged benefits of colon cleansing.[3] The bowel itself is not dirty and barring drugs, disease or mechanical blockage, cleans itself naturally without assistance.[4] Certain enema preparations have been associated with heart attacks and electrolyte imbalances, and improperly prepared or used equipment can cause infection or damage to the bowel."

Talk to your pharmacist or doctor about the gas and bloating.References :

Try and eat a handful of nuts every day. Also drink a glass of very warm water first thing in the morning it helps to flush the system.Stay away from to much carps. There are some fruit that cause bloating, such as pears.Keep a check on what you eat and how much bloating you get afterwards.
So you can check what causes it. Good Luck!!References : Own experience
